Who operates Wake
Wake is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME] ("Wake," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy applies to the Wake web service and the related websites that link to it.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide and information needed to run Wake:
- Account information, such as your email address, authentication records, and basic profile details.
- Your content, including notes, node spaces, graph relationships, reminders, uploaded files, and content you submit to Ask Wake.
- Subscription and entitlement information, such as your plan, subscription status, and feature allowances. Wake does not receive or store full payment-card numbers.
- Usage and technical information, including feature usage counters, request diagnostics, device or browser information, IP-derived information, and security logs made available by our hosting and service providers.
- Communications, including support requests and the reminder emails Wake sends at your direction.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot Wake;
- authenticate you and keep your data associated with your account;
- store, retrieve, and organize the content you create;
- provide AI features you choose to use;
- process subscriptions and enforce plan allowances;
- send requested reminders and service communications;
- respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations; and
- understand and improve reliability, usability, and security.
AI features
If you use Wake's AI features, Wake may send relevant information to OpenAI to produce embeddings, retrieve related Wake content, and generate a response. Depending on the feature, that information can include your question, selected or retrieved excerpts from your Wake content, recent conversation context, and text extracted from supported attachments. Web research may also send your query to OpenAI's web search tooling.
Wake requests that generated responses are not stored by the OpenAI Responses API, but data handled by OpenAI remains subject to OpenAI's applicable terms and privacy practices. AI conversations and citations may be stored in your Wake account so the feature can work as expected. Do not submit information to AI features that you do not want processed in this way.
Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to operate Wake. They process information for us subject to their own terms and our arrangements with them:
- Supabase for authentication, database services, and private file storage;
- Vercel for application hosting and delivery;
- OpenAI for AI features, embeddings, and optional web research;
- Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, billing, and the customer billing portal; and
- Resend for email reminders and transactional email delivery.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect Wake or others, investigate abuse, or support a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition. We do not sell your personal information as part of Wake's current business model.
Payments
Stripe collects and processes payment details directly. Wake receives limited billing information such as customer and subscription identifiers, plan and payment status, and transaction-related details needed to provide paid features and support your subscription.
Security
Wake uses safeguards intended to protect your information, including authenticated access, user-scoped database controls, private file storage, and restricted server credentials. No system, transmission, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information and content while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide Wake, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce our agreements. Different kinds of records may be kept for different periods. Deleting individual content removes it from your active Wake account, although residual copies may persist temporarily in backups or logs.
To request account deletion, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL]. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request, and we may retain limited information where legally permitted or required.
Your choices and rights
You can review and edit much of your Wake content from your account, choose whether to use AI features, manage billing through the Stripe billing portal, and unsubscribe from non-essential communications where offered. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection concerning personal information.
Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] to make a privacy request. We may verify your identity and will respond as required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
Wake is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Wake, contact us so we can review and address the situation.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Wake and applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice when appropriate.
